Bons LIVE betting

8 / 10

One of the first things that we checked out in the Bons review was the in-play section. We were pleased to see that this sportsbook gives punters in Philippines access to the best sports around. There were events across football, basketball, cricket, and more. It was also good to see that a Bons bet can be placed on a range of markets. On football alone, there were the likes of both teams to score, over/under, handicaps, and totals. There is also a huge selection of prop bets to explore.

One Bons review that we saw stated that the Bons betting site didn’t have a live stream. It appears that this is out of date as we noticed that there were streams for esports, table tennis, and cricket. There was also a bet builder feature for football bets, as well as the change to cashout with all in-play bets.

Types of live games at Bons

Wondering about the Bons betting opportunities across live sports? Well, here’s a look at the most popular ones where you can enjoy the in-play action:

  • Esports
  • Basketball
  • Baseball
  • Football
  • Badminton
  • Cricket
  • Volleyball
  • Tennis

Bons?casino

8 / 10

While you’re here to learn about the sportsbook, it’s also worth mentioning that the Bons casino also provides an outstanding experience. Looking across the selection of games, there are some of the best providers in the industry such as Evolution, Yggdrasil, Playson, and NetEnt. We were also impressed with some of the casino promotions that we came across and, even better, there was no need to enter a Bons casino bonus code.

Let’s take a closer look at the Bons casino games that are on offer:

Blackjack

This is one of the oldest casino games around and only comes second in popularity to slots. That means that casinos are expected to have plenty to offer with this game. It’s fair to say that Bons delivers here with more than 150 tables to play at. These all came from Evolution, which is widely regarded as the best provider of live games around. Table limits start at 250 PHP and go as high as 20,000 PHP.

Roulette

This is another casino classic that Bons Philippines does well with. There are more than 50 tables to play at, with variations such as Oracle 360 Roulette, and Speed Roulette. We noted that there were titles from Evolution, but other providers also featured such as Vivo Gaming, and Ezugi. Table limits again ranged from 250 PHP to 20,000 PHP.

Baccarat

If you’re a fan of baccarat, you’ll also be a fan of the Bons casino. Here, there are 120 live tables to play at, with variants such as Speed Baccarat and XXXtreme Lightning Baccarat. Evolution has the biggest presence here, but there are also titles from Vivio Gaming, Live88, and Winfinity. Again, we saw table limits starting at 250 PHP with 20,000 PHP being the cap.

Slots

There are around 500 slot titles to choose from. While this may not be the biggest selection we’ve come across, there’s still plenty to explore and to keep player entertained. Games come from the likes of NetEnt, Playson, BGaming, and 3 Oaks. Some of the best titles include Gonzo’s Quest, Starburst, and Money Train 3. We liked how the slots were arranged so that it was easy to flip between new releases, jackpot titles, and Megaways. It was also great to see a good few crash games included.

Bons bonuses & promotions

8 / 10

It has to be said that we’re a little disappointed with the fact that there’s no sports welcome bonus right now. We have seen other reviews that indicate that there is something up for grabs but, as of August 2024, there is nothing on the Bons site to show that this is the case.

While this is not ideal, the good news is that there are ongoing promotions that existing players can benefit from. There’s no need to use any Bons bonus code for any of these, so let’s take a look at just what they are:

Boosted odds

This promotion only applies to pre-match betting and runs every Friday until Sunday. It’s as simple as it sounds. You look for the events with boosted odds, place your bet, and benefit from increased winnings. This is a great way to make your betting experience more profitable.

Combo of the week

Place the best combo bet of the week and you could find yourself with a 250 PHP free bet. Bons looks at the combo bets place and rewards:

  • The biggest net win
  • The combo bet with the highest odds
  • Miss of the week where you lose out because of one event

Prizes must be used within 72 hours and attract 5x wagering requirements.

Cashback

There’s the chance to benefit from weekly cashback from your sports bets. The exact amount you’ll get depends on where you are in the loyalty program. The levels of cashback start at 5% with 6x wagering and go up to 12.5%. At the top level, the money you receive is free from wagering requirements.

Combo boost

This promotion can see you boost your winnings by up to 100%. For this, you need to match 11 winning bets. Match 3, and you get a 5% boost and there are plenty of opportunities in between too. This is another attractive chance to make your betting that much more profitable.

Bons?odds & margins

Before racing in and joining a sportsbook, you need to step back and take a look at the odds and margins on offer. Doing this means that you can assess how profitable your betting could be. If you’re new to sports betting, then you may not know what these terms mean and that’s why we’re going to take a look at them now:

  • Margins: When looking at the margins, you’re looking at the built-in profit that a bookie will make. Remember, while winning is amazing, these bookies are businesses, and they need to generate a profit so that they can continue to operate. When we look at margins, we like to see them coming in at 8% or lower.
  • Odds: Here, we’re looking at how likely something is to happen. If an outcome is highly likely, the odds will be low and so will be any payout. The less likely an outcome the higher the odds go, and the bigger the potential rewards.

The good news with Bons is that the odds and margins are extremely competitive. When looking at overall margins, these come in with an average of 6.38%. Some of the highlights here are football, 6.16%, basketball, 5.55%, and esports, 7.4%. It was tennis where Bons fell a little short, with margins of 8.4%.

Bons mobile apps

8 / 10

Punters in the Philippines have embraced the convenience of betting on the go, and that’s the reason that we thought we’d put mobile betting to the test. We were pleased to see that there is a dedicated Android app that can be downloaded directly from the site. The app looks great, loads quickly, and gives full access to all that the desktop site offers, including live streams.

We’ve read that there’s also an iOS App, but we have found that is not the case. This is something that’s still being developed so, right now, Apple users will need to use their mobile browsers. While this experience was still pretty good, it has to be said that the smaller screen looked a little cluttered at times and that could be a little off putting.

  • Android App: Yes
  • iOS App: No

Bons?usability & features

7 / 10

When you arrive at the Bons site, things all look a little retro. The logo looks like it’s straight out of the 1980s, and figures used to display promotions look like they’re made from Lego. This makes the whole experience fun while the black background and white text makes everything easy to read.

It has to be said that it’s this black background and white text that makes the odds so easy to read. We have seen sites before where we’re almost squinting as we try and read the figures, but that’s not the case here at all. Added to this, the menus and tabs make the site exceptionally easy to navigate. We found it easy to move between the casino area and sportsbook, as well as to focus on the sports that interested us most.

The live stream feature looked good here, but it is a little limited. We’d like to think that this will grow over time and cover major sports such as football. As of August 2024, the only streams are for esports, table tennis and cricket. It was great to see the cashout feature here and this certainly helped us to minimise our losses as we wagered on Dota 2. Another real plus was the bet builder that can be used across football markets.

  • Limitations
  • Live stream covers limited sports

Bons sports to be on

7 / 10

When looking for the best sports betting, Bons delivers with an impressive range to explore. There are more than 40 sports to choose from and this should be enough to satisfy pretty much all punters in the Philippines.

As we explored the sports, we found some of the most popular such as football, basketball, and baseball. We also found that cock fighting could be bet on here too. Across the more traditional sports, we found that the major leagues and tournaments were all covered, with plenty of betting options. The biggest omissions here are American Football and rugby. While these may not be huge sports in the area, they are certainly growing in popularity, so we’d like to have seen them included.

On a positive note, Bons does well when it comes to esports. We enjoyed looking at the markets across Dota 2, Rainbow League, and FIFA. It was also enjoyable to try out e-horse racing.

Credibility

8 / 10

We have a reputation for only bringing the top sportsbooks to our readers. That’s because we want you to have a safe and enjoyable betting experience that can’t be matched. We can only do this by delving onto the details of each bookie, to make sure that they’re credible. The good news here is that Bons definitely is.

Bons was launched in 2020 and has gone on to grow an impressive reputation. As we’ve collated ratings and reviews from across the Philippines, we can report that it’s all positive. Another good sign is that Bons holds a Curacao license. This means that it signs up to a range of measures that protect you.

Payment methods: Bons deposits & withdrawals

Bons delivers on this front, and we were pleased to see a range of options. You can make deposits with the likes of GCash, GrabPay, Skrill, Bitcoin, Visa, Mastercard. Minimum deposits are 50 PHP with the upper limit reaching 450,000 PHP.

Punters need to know that their winnings are secure, and that they can get hold of their money when they want to. Support

This is another area where we spend a great deal of time before we will recommend a sportsbook to our readers. While no one likes to think of things going wrong, the truth is that they can do. When they do, you need to know that help is at hand. We can say that Bons comes up trumps here with exceptional levels of support.

The first method of contact is email. It has to be said that we’re not fans of using email as you never quite know when a reply will come. From what we’ve seen, responses are generally between 24 and 48 hours. Not wanting to wait this long, we thought we’d give the live chat function a try.

We found that the live chat was available 24/7. When we reached out, it took a little under 5 minutes before an agent joined us. Once they were onboard, everything was much quicker, and responses were almost instant. The agent was courteous and also clearly had the knowledge they needed to resolve our query.

Account verification

7 / 10

Before you can go ahead and place any bets at Bons, you’ll need to first verify your account. It’s important that, when you sign up, you provide an email address that you can access easily. Why? Well, this email address will be used to send you a link. It’s by clicking on this link that you confirm your account and can go ahead to fully enjoy what’s on offer.

While some sportsbooks follow KYC procedures and require further verification from their customers, this isn’t the case at Bons. At least we could find no reference to this. It was simply a case of clicking to say that you were at least 20 years old (other sites accept 18-year-olds) and that you agreed to the terms and conditions.

Bons?betting markets: Short guide

8 / 10

One of the plus features at Bons is that there are plenty of markets to bet on. As you read on, we’re going to take a look at some of the most popular so that you know how you can get involved:

Over/under (Totals)

This type of bet relies on the sportsbook setting a figure for the likes of a final score or number of points. Let’s take football as an example with France taking on Spain. The bookie may believe that there will be 2.5 goals in total. You can wager on whether there will be more or less than this.

Asian Handicap

Here, the bettor has a handicap to overcome. Rather than just betting on the favourite to win, you need them to also overcome the handicap. Football gives the easiest example here. Let's suppose England face Italy in football, and the Three Lions are deemed likeliest to win. This being the case, the bookie could give the team a -1.5 handicap. This means that for this bet to win, they must be victorious by 2 clear goals. Only scoring 1 may win the game, but they won’t have overcome the handicap.

Accumulator betting

It’s common to see these being called accas, parlays, and combo bets. As we’ve seen at Bons, there are often combo boosts on offer that can skyrocket your winnings. This bet type is all about wagering on more than one selection. In fact, you’ll usually need to bet on at least 3. The more you combine and win, the bigger the payout.

Moneyline bets

These bets are the simplest that there are. You are betting on an outright winner. While these are simple, they are not the easiest to win with, and learning about other markets can boost your win potential.

Prop bets

The betting options with props are limitless. Rather than wagering on the outcome of an event, you bet on something that could happen within it. In football, you could bet on the number of yellow cards, in cricket it could be the number of maiden overs, and in tennis it could be the number of aces.

Is Bons trustworthy? Final Thoughts

7.7 / 10

We enjoyed our time taking a look at what the Bons sportsbook has to offer. As well as coming away with the conclusion that this site is great fun, we’re also 100% confident that it is trustworthy. With its license in place, secure payment methods, and great customer support, we have no concerns at all.

Aside from the trust, we’ve also been impressed with the betting opportunities here. The in-play betting section was enjoyable, and most sports were covered. If we could improve things here, we’d like to see American Football as a sport to bet on, and we’d like to see more live streams.

  • Limitations
  • No American Football
  • No iOS App
